ROMANIA WITH THE LARGEST DELEGATION AT THE 2016 BALKAN TAEKWONDO WTF CHAMPIONSHIP IN BULGARIA
Romania participated between 23 and 25 September 2016 in the eighteenth edition of the Balkan Taekwondo Championship, held this year in the city of Dupnitsa in Bulgaria.
The Romanian delegation was the largest in history, the entire staff numbering no less than 107 delegates for the two days of competition. The event proved to be auspicious for Romania, the athletes Marcu Andreea, Musteata Liana, Luca Gabriel Vasile, Gheondea Denisa and Marin Bianca finishing their categories each on the highest step, thus obtaining the gold. The Romanian delegation also won five silver medals and no less than 15 bronze medals.
Romania also had a series of representatives in the segment dedicated to the poomsae test, but the organizers did not publish the official results until now. These will be added as we receive them. But we can certainly note that both in the individual, double or triple events, but especially in the freestyle event, Romanian athletes raised the hall standing to applause from the entire audience, a clear sign that the Poomsae test is beginning to take root and on the territory of our country.
We would like to congratulate the entire team present, to the athletes who have achieved remarkable results and to wish them further success, in the national and international competitions remaining from the sports calendar for this season.
